Sound Design Music
Sound design in films, depending upon the film, can either be an ideal example of everything that is right with a feature film or, in the worst cases, everything that is wrong, overly sentimental, or cheesy. Some of the greatest examples of sound design are now cliché – the torrential, screaming strings in Psycho, for instance. Yet what about the more subtle aspects of a film’s sound?

Sound designers are often highly skilled, extremely creative, and very innovative professionals who pay far closer attention to the sounds in everyday life than most individuals. Consider the sound of a young girl petting a Brontosaurus in Jurassic Park, a sound that certainly doesn’t occur on a normal basis. Based upon the skin make-up determined by scientists and their highly adept ability to recreate odd sounds, the sound design team on the movie determined that stroking a pineapple skin with the bare hand produced something which, to the sound designers’ closest approximation, matched the idea of the director.
Now consider some sound design clichés: rodents constantly squeak when onscreen (even when most rodents are silent until playing in your walls), any hawk or eagle emits the same high-pitched screech, computer keys beep whenever struck, and almost every microphone causes feedback (and ensuing embarrassment). In more finely tuned features, the sound design is so perfect it’s unobtrusive. It’s true to life. Clichés are often not true to life, and therefore cause the audience to question the validity of the film itself
But cutting costs can be the real art for sound designers. Lower-quality products, as mentioned before, can mean the difference between a well-made film and one the audience writes off as poorly done and not worth their time. Without sacrificing quality, sound design must sacrifice some of the higher price tags find smaller ways of cutting costs.
Royalty free sound design music, also referred to as “buyout music,” is an excellent avenue through which any sound designer can build a music library of high-quality, professional arranged and produced tracks for any scene or film. Adding a buyout music catalog of sound design music to your library allows you a far greater range of sound design choices without the legal and financial obligation of copyrighted music. Rather than using low-quality tracks, find sound design combinations that are uniquely your own including full-length music albums and sound effects.
And, since there are no payment obligations beyond the initial purchase price, royalty free sound design music can be used for additional applications. Offer short soundtrack CDs for your independent film as a promotional tool or create commercials to be played at college radio or television stations. Use your imagination!
Regardless of the application, royalty free sound design music offers the invaluable combination of reducing overhead through the elimination of pay-per-play costs while enhancing mood, memory, and connection with that particular moment in your film. Whether background music, sound effects, or music on hold and promotional music, royaltyfreemusic.com offers a wide variety of selections ideal for your royalty free sound design music needs.
