Do I have to edit the music with the same operating system software as the film?

No. If you are editing the film on a Windows PC, we recommend that
you have the files in WAV format before moving them from the
alternate operating system to the Windows PC. If you are editing the
film on a Mac, we recommend that you convert the files to AIFF format
before moving them to the Mac.
