A Question about Choosing Music for Special Purposes

What genre of music do you think would work best for my corporate training videos?

Thomas, IA

It's not about genres as much as tempos and emotions. Our royalty free stock music search page lets you search for music based on both tempo and/or emotion. We think that's more liberating than limiting yourself to, for example, just classical or techno (although, admittedly, both royalty free classical music and techno are pretty good defaults for applications like this).

A person watching a training video is there to learn something. That's a much different state of mind than watching television. Royalty free music for training videos has a much different job to accomplish than royalty free tv promo music. Corporate music has to both prepare minds for learning while at the same suggesting how those minds should feel about the subject matter.

Satisfying the first part usually means picking something with a fairly brisk tempo (remember those school kids that had the highest test scores after listening to some upbeat Mozart?) Deciding what emotional state to suggest to your audience depends on your subject matter, but the majority of our corporate customers usually go with something positive and inspiring. I think one of our best CDs for this requirement is Best Corporate Soundtracks of '07 (#RFM1653) found at: http://www.royaltyfreemusic.com/best-corporate-soundtracks-of-07.html
