Everyone knows that you can have all the elaborate costumes, the tombstones and the cobwebs you want, but without the proper creepy background music and sound effects, your Halloween gathering or haunted production just won't pack the proper blood-curdling punch. Fear not, or rather fear well, because this royalty free music collection of spooky songs and sounds for Halloween will send chills through every listener.
The Haunted Halloween collection starts with a piece called "Spookfest", and that it most certainly is. All the sounds are vocally performed on this haunting track, including the wind, will-o-the-wisps, ghosts, ghouls and black birds. It's rhythmic and creepy. You've never seen quite so much undead activity in one graveyard before. Here's a party you don't want to crash!
"Animal Sacrifice" terrifies with the sound of hand-drums and ethereal, unsettling animal snorts and grunts. It's suspenseful and uncomfortable royalty free music , with minimal, menacing synth chords. Definitely not music to dine by! But you won't have much appetite after "Eerie Suspense" anyway, in which the doom of all is sealed by the slow beat of a drum, chimes and synth droning, rising to a pitch that makes you want to hold your head and scream. You can run, but be sure you look over your shoulder.
"Heavy Breathing" begins with the scratches of an old record, overlaid by synth keyboards and gently menacing piano notes. You don't want to pick this call up, but they're probably dialing from inside the house anyway.
The mounting danger on "In the Jaw" is not for the faint of heart. It's a frightening mix of organic and industrial sounds, none of them friendly, with a synth wallop that will knock your block off. And more banging of the damned (or is that damned banging?) follows on "Cold Sweat". Someone or some thing is hammering on metal in this freaky ambient bed that builds in suspense. What they're up to won't keep till the morning, so either creep downstairs to discover what gives in the basement or get the heck out of there now!
Is there anything more chilling than those uncertain, tinkling notes of a piano? Couple that with menacing synth swells and throw in some violin and "No Way Out" is a very scary background music winner.
The menace grows in "The Smell of Fear", where something is tracking you and it's got your scent. Distorted ambience, fuzz and a restless percussion track will give you nightmares, but that's half the fun of being scared.
Haunted Halloween is also packed full of royalty free sound effects , making it a brilliantly macabre addition to any production music library . Choose from the sounds of mushy eating, ambient and human growls, screams, chains, breaking glass, shuffling feet and assorted other unnatural weirdness that you don't want to hear coming from somewhere inside whatever haunted house you and your friends are spending the night in. Sleep tight!
