The journey begins with "Calming Motion". As the car clips along the road, rolling fields unfurl on either side, a terrestrial sea cut by an automotive prow. The acoustic guitar chords are light and steady.
In "Fragile", Dan Fogelberg sensitivity is recalled in a quiet, tender tune. "Depth of Light" is braver and more expansive, the chords deeper and wider. Equally positive, "Rules of Attraction" opens the door to romance and optimism in light, layered tones, easy but steady.
The clock moves in a fluid, inevitable rhythm in "Time for a Change", offering a heartfelt mechanism, with notes of melancholy. In "Song for Tomorrow", movement and hope come steadily closer, in gentle upbeat strumming.
